Sukkot 2019
Dear Mishpocah (Family),
We are at the end of what is known as the High Holiday Season of the Jewish Feasts as we celebrate, Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles.
I am grateful for all the support you have given with your prayers and gifts throughout the year and especially during these High Holidays!
Thanks to your giving, we saw nearly 1,000 Jewish people make a profession of faith in Jesus at our recent outreach in Odessa, Ukraine.
We have several follow up events planned in Odessa for those who responded. I expect many of the future church leaders of Ukraine (and then Israel) to come out of this outreach.
I’m reminded of the great evangelist Hudson Taylor. God called Hudson to be one of the first to preach the Gospel in heathen China. Today, because of his efforts, China has one of the fastest growing underground churches in the world.
Hudson understood the secret of Gentile evangelism. Every time he would open up a new region in China, he would write a check to a Jewish ministry. And he would always write on the check, Romans 1:16, which says, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of the Messiah for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first…” (NKJV).
In the Old Testament, the Jewish men were required to come to Jerusalem on the Feast of Tabernacles to present an offering. What a great point of contact to target a specific gift and prayer to God!
On this harvest festival of Sukkot, please continue to partner with me to bring in the Jewish harvest! I live for going to the Jew first because it will trigger the greatest Gentile harvest in history!
Blessed Sukkot,
Sid Israel Roth
