Are You Anti-Semitic? (Roth)
Are You Anti-Semitic?
by Sid Roth
The most anti-Semitic (anti-Jewish) sin on planet earth is for a Christian not to share Jesus with Jewish people!
When I was a new Jewish believer in the early 1970s, I was swept into God’s Kingdom on a wave of God’s Spirit.
Many of the current leaders of the Messianic Jewish movement also came in on that wave.
But there has not been a major influx of Jewish people into the Kingdom since, except for the Russian Jews.
Why the Russian Jews? During 70 years of atheistic Communism, they were protected from the lie that says you can’t be Jewish and believe in Jesus. When the former Soviet Union opened its doors to the Gospel, many Jews as well as others were born again.
Now there is something amazing happening in the spiritual atmosphere for Jews. For the first time since the early 1970s, many Jews are supernaturally coming to know Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah.
A new wave of God’s Spirit is impacting not only Israel, but Jews worldwide. My friends who lead Messianic Jewish congregations in Israel report that sabras (native-born Israelis) are coming to the Lord every week!
Why is God removing the spiritual scales from the eyes of Jewish people? Because it is time to form the One New Man of Ephesians 2:14-15:
“For He…has made both [Jew and Gentile] one, and has broken down the middle wall of division….so as to create in Himself One New Man from the two, thus making peace.”
The Hebrew word for “peace” means “completeness.” In other words, a Gentile believer is incomplete without a Jewish believer in Jesus. And a Jewish believer in Jesus is incomplete without a Gentile believer in Jesus.
The Jewish believer in Jesus has a unique spiritual DNA to reach the Gentile.
“…salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22b).
The Gentile Christian has a unique spiritual DNA to reach the Jew.
“…to provoke them [Jews] to jealousy salvation has come to Gentiles” (Romans 11:11b).
When these two spiritual DNAs come together, they form the complete Body of Messiah or the One New Man. When you can reach the Jew and Gentile, you will reach the world.
This is what Jesus meant when He prayed in John 17:21:
“that they [Jew and Gentile were the only two people groups] all may be one…that the world may believe….”
Paul says in Romans 11:12, 15 (my paraphrase):
“If it was a blessing for Gentiles when Jewish people rejected their Messiah (so Gentiles could be saved), how much greater blessing will be poured out on Gentile Christians when Jews are saved. This formation of the One New Man will release ‘life from the dead’ miracle resurrection power!”
Paul says in Romans 11:25 the sign that will prepare us for this greater blessing will be the “fullness of the Gentiles” (“fullness” could be translated “maturity”). What does this mean? When Gentile Christians get “mature” in understanding the mystery of Israel, look for the spiritual scales to fall off the eyes of Jewish people.
This Jewish harvest will trigger “life from the dead” miracles in the church. The least believer will walk in resurrection miracle power.
Amos says this revival will happen when the Tabernacle (Heb. “family” or “house”) of David (the Jewish people) is restored to God. This will trigger the greatest Gentile revival in history (Amos 9:11-13).
Now you understand why the devil is blinding the eyes of some Gentile Christians to Romans 11:11. False theology is creeping in. One of the most hateful of these teachings is called “Two-Covenant Theology.” This position teaches that godly Jews who die can go to heaven without Jesus because of the Old Covenant promises.
Leviticus 17:11 contradicts this position:
“…for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”
Leviticus requires the animal sacrifice to be in the Temple in Jerusalem. No Temple means no biblical atonement for sin. Since we all fall short of God’s glorious standard, we all need God’s method of atonement-Jesus (Romans 3:23-24).
Because this Two-Covenant teaching is so obviously unbiblical, the devil has come up with a new variation: a godly Jew who dies without Jesus gets a chance to believe in Jesus after his death. This allows followers of this teaching to agree that Jesus is the only way to heaven, yet not see the need to witness to Jewish people now.
The thousands of believers, including Jesus, who died as martyrs in the first church for preaching the gospel to Jews obviously did not believe this.
But what about an evangelistic approach of doing acts of kindness for the Jew and Israel?
Friendship evangelism has worked wonderfully for other groups, but it is just not as effective with Jewish people. Why? Because most Jews think they will stop being Jewish if they believe in Jesus. And as long as they believe this lie, acts of kindness, or even of blessing Israel, will not bring them closer to getting born again.
When was the last time a Jewish person asked you how they could be saved? God’s strategy for witnessing is not for a Jew to ask, but for us to proclaim the Good News:
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14).
We are in a new season. We are in the set time to favor Zion. We are in Jewish revival. God’s purpose is to reach the Jew to form the One New Man to trigger the greatest Gentile revival in history. Will you be anti-Semitic? Or will you share the Good News with the Jewish person God brings across your path?
