What a life! Katie Souza went from working in the entertainment industry to being a career criminal!

At one time, it seemed that Katie “had it all.” She was on the radio, performing in television commercials, a national television program and movies. However, every day she was going to work high on speed. Soon Katie’s addiction brought her career to a screeching halt and she plummeted face first into a violent life of crime.

Katie became a meth cook and a collector of bad drug debts. Her days were filled with drugs, clandestine laboratories, stolen vehicles, high-speed chases, gun shootouts, and many arrests. Finally, after almost a decade, she was apprehended by the federal marshals, and eventually sentenced to 13 years in prison.

It was just what God ordered! While incarcerated she was transformed by the Holy Spirit and discipled. Then God granted her a miracle with an early release! Today, Katie lives a life she once only dreamed of as Founder and President of Expected End Ministries in Maricopa, AZ.

God has shown me a powerful revelation about your soul that can usher in miraculous healing for your body! When you are born again, your spirit man is instantly made perfect. The Bible says that the same Spirit that lives in Messiah Jesus lives in you. However, upon your regeneration in Messiah, your soul man is not instantly made perfect. In fact, it’s most likely a mess.

Sin causes wounds within our souls. Either someone sinned against you or you sinned against yourself. Maybe you were abandoned, molested, robbed or abused in some way. Possibly, you sinned against yourself by doing drugs, committing adultery or maybe you abused someone else. Either way, sin creates these soul wounds. Some are even passed on from the sins of ancestors.

Since the wounds on your soul were created by sin, they give the demonic realm the legal right to torment you! Sin is an open door for the enemy. One of the reasons why the enemy did not possess power over Jesus was because He was without sin and therefore had no wounds in His soul.

There was nothing in Jesus that gave the enemy a legal right to afflict Him. Listen to what Jesus says about this: “I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me]” (John 14:30 AMP.).

Let me show you further proof of this from Mark 5. In this story, a man with the spirit of Legion meets Jesus as He comes into the region of Gerasenes. The Scripture says, “And when from a distance he saw Jesus, he ran and fell on his knees before Him in homage, and crying out with a loud voice, he said, What have You to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? [What is there in common between us?]” (Mark 5:6-7 AMP.).

Remember what Jesus said in John 14:30, “…the prince of the world is coming. And… [He has nothing in common with Me… and he has no power over Me.]” The spirit of Legion recognized there was something different about this man Jesus. Legion knew there was nothing in Jesus’ soul that was in common with the dark kingdom, so it possessed no power to torment Jesus. However, Jesus could torment it. That is why Legion begged Jesus, “I solemnly implore you by God, do not begin to torment me!” (Mark 5:7).

Do you desire complete dominion over the enemy? Then, there must be nothing in your soul that is in common with Satan.

There were two men in the story of Mark 5. One was Jesus and the other was the man who was totally under the power of the spirit of Legion. What enabled Legion to have total dominion over him? The wounds in his soul! Let me prove it.

Mark writes, “And as soon as He got out of the boat, there met Him out of the tombs a man [under the power] of an unclean spirit. This man continually lived among the tombs… Night and day [he was] among the tombs” (Mark 5:2-3,5 AMP.).

Three times the Scripture mentions that this man lived among the tombs. The word “tomb” in the Greek means to recall or remember. It also means a monument set up to cause a perpetual remembrance. This is what a soul wound is: a monument set up inside of you that causes your mind, will and emotions to be continually affected and controlled by a horrible event in your life. The man in Mark 5 lived among the tombs. He lived out of the wounded parts in his soul. And because soul wounds are formed by sin, it gave the spirit of Legion the legal right to torment him.

Healing of the Body and Soul
What does this have to do with physical healing? 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”  Your physical health is directly connected to your soul’s health. If there is a wound in your soul that was formed through sin, it will give the demonic the legal right to bring sickness and disease into your body!

This past summer when we were on tour, we visited a state where I had never been before. As soon as we got off the plane, I felt sick. Within two hours I had a high temperature, could barely think, my throat hurt, and I developed a severe bladder infection, along with a yeast infection! Instantly, I knew that in order for the demonic to be able to make me so sick, there must have been something in my soul that was in common with the demonic powers of that region. So instead of rebuking and getting nowhere, I lay down on the floor and let the Glory Light of Jesus flood my soul.

While I was lying there, the Lord gave me a vision. He showed me five rooms inside of my soul where old wounds were hiding. I saw myself walk into each room in order to bring them out. Suddenly, they were all covered with the Glory Light of Jesus. Each one was instantly healed!

Once the wounds were healed, I could effectively make war against the demonic forces because their legal right to make me sick was gone. That night I commanded the demonic to come off me and that nasty spirit came up. Its name was “Legion” and it spoke to me in an audible voice so immense it would fill a large two-story room. It demanded, “What do you want?!”

I screamed, “In Jesus Name, I want you to get out!!”

It left! And while it was leaving, I literally felt its tentacles rip from my body. I was completely healed!
