Christianity is Jewish!
There is nothing new in the New Covenant. Both the Greek word in Luke 22:20 and the Hebrew word in Jer. 31:31 for “new” has a basic meaning of “renew” or building on the previous covenants. In other words, everything in the New Covenant is based on a renewed understanding of the Old Covenant.
Also, this renewed Covenant is only with the Jewish people (Jer. 31:31)! But the Old Covenant promises a brand new position for Gentiles in the Messiah (Root of Jesse, Isaiah 11:10). Paul uses the analogy of a fig tree. Romans 11:24 identifies the fig tree as “Israel.” The Gentiles are symbolized as wild olive branches grafted into Israel.
Ephesians 2:12 says at one time Gentiles were strangers to the covenants of Israel, but now are part of the commonwealth of Israel. The word “commonwealth” in Greek could be translated “freedom” of Israel. This new “freedom” is freedom from sin, freedom from sickness, and unlimited access to God the Father.
Yeshua describes it as two people groups (Jew and Gentile) that merge into something new. Something that did not exist before. These people still keep their physical identity. For instance a male stays a male, a Jew stays a Jew, but something happens in their spirit. This is Yeshua’s prayer in John 17:21. He prayed that the two people groups, Jews and Gentiles, would become one. He promised that the synergy of these two groups would create the same glory on them that was on Him. This glory would cause the world to believe (John 17:21, 22)!
Paul picked up on this theme and boldly said the reason Yeshua came was to break down the middle wall of separation between Jew and Gentile to form one new man which would make a dwelling place for God (Eph. 2:14-16, 22).
Malachi says Elijah will come to prepare the way for the return of Messiah. His spirit will knit the hearts of the fathers (Jewish people) with the children (Christians). Just as Elisha had to stay with Elijah to receive the double anointing, the Christian must unite with the Jew to receive the full anointing of Yeshua to evangelize the world.
This synergy of Jew and Christian as One New Man, is exponential. Deuteronomy 32:30 says one (the Christian) will cause 1,000 to flee, but two (Jew and Christian) will cause 10,000 to flee!
In preparation for the great Jewish harvest, Messianic Vision is mentoring Christians to walk in the supernatural. Paul says the way to reach the Jew is to walk in signs and wonders (I Cor. 1:22). We are also teaching the biblical culture of the first church. Our goal is not to practice this culture in legalism, but in renewed covenant freedom. The third area we mentor you in is hearing God’s voice for yourself.
As we enter into this great Jewish revival, it will set the stage for the greatest gentile revival in history that will prepare the way for the Lord’s soon return (Amos 9:11-13).
Shalom and Love!
