“Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills and mountains is a deception: surely in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.” Jer 3: 23
‘EVEN THE KORAN CLAIMS ISRAEL BELONGS TO THE JEWS’: Middle Eastern affairs professor Nissim Dana spoke to media sources Monday about his upcoming book, To Whom Does This Land Belong?, and revealed that Islam absolutely does not have a claim to the Land of Israel - even by its own standards. The Professor explained that the new book reveals several more insights into the Koran that remain unknown to the average Muslim and even some Muslim religious leaders. Dana noted that top Islamic figures have embarked on a fierce campaign to separate the Jewish people from their rightful homeland and claim that Muslims have a sacred right to the Land of Israel. However, Professor Dana noted, their efforts defy the Koran itself. Israel is mentioned eight times, according to the Professor, and there is not a single mention that it belongs to Arabs or Muslims. "Whenever there is a reference to the Land of Israel and to whom it belongs, the Koran points to the Jewish people," Professor Dana explained. Dana pointed to Koran 7:7, where G-d Himself bequeaths the Land of Israel to the Jews, as a nation who thought themselves weak, and blesses them with goodness. As for the argument that the Land of Israel was originally intended for the Jews, but G-d switched allegiances to Islam, Dana notes there is no source in the Koran for such a statement. He adds a source in the fifth chapter of the Islamic holy text whereby Mohammed says on his deathbed that returning to the Land of Israel is impossible in and of itself, because G-d placed in Moses's mouth the declaration that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people. NETANYAHU WILL CONTINUE TO EXPOSE IRAN AS A ‘TERROR STATE’ DURING US TRIP: PM Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Barack Obama next month at the White House during a multi-faceted trip to the US, the prime minister confirmed Monday. He said the purpose of his upcoming visit to the US is to warn against the Iranian threat and to discuss the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Netanyahu warned that Iran continues its role as a "terror state," and therefore it must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. The prime minister stated that Iran is continuing to violate human rights by carrying out executions of its people, as well as supporting the "massacre" being conducted by Syrian President Bashar Assad. He pointed to recent verbal attacks by Iranian Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as pronouncements that Iran is sending warships to America's maritime border, as proof of Iran's true intentions. Netanyahu said he would demand the complete dismantling of Iran's nuclear program before sanctions are further lifted. Netanyahu added he would make clear in discussions on the peace process that Israel's interests must be upheld, including recognition of the country's Jewish nature and the security of the state's citizens. (J.Post) Pray that PM Netanyahu will have an impact on US leaders, especially where the dangers of an nuclear empowered Iran are concerned – and in discussions on the so called, “peace process.”
IRAN DEVELOPS NEW GENERATION OF POWERFUL CENTRIFUGES: Iran's atomic chief Ali Akbar Salehi said Monday: "We unveiled a new generation of centrifuges that surprised the Westerners. This new machine is 15 times more powerful than the previous generation." Salehi added, "We successfully argued that this was allowed within the research and development article in the interim agreement." (AFP)
IRAN CLAIMS SUCCESSFUL BALLISTIC MISSILE TEST: Iran's official news agency says the country has successfully test-fired two missiles, including a long-range ballistic weapon. The Monday report by IRNA described the missiles as a "new generation." It said the ballistic missile had radar-evading capabilities, but did not give a name. It said the second missile was called Bina, or "Insightful," and was laser-guided. It said it could be fired from the ground or from aircraft. Iran already has surface-to-surface missiles with a range about 1,250 miles, capable of reaching Israel and the US military bases in the region. (Ha’aretz)
PA MINISTER: WE DEMAND SOVEREIGNTY OVER THE KOTEL: Jerusalem, including the Western Wall, rightfully belongs to the Palestinians, PA Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud al-Habbash told Israel Channel 10 TV on Monday. "All the holy places, including the Aksa mosque and the Western Wall," must be returned to the Palestinian Authority. Asked what would happen if Jews wished to pray at the Wall, al-Habbash said “they will be welcome, there will be no problem.” Under the Oslo Accords, Israelis are supposed to have access to several religious sites in PA-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria. In actuality, however, Jews are almost completely banned from these sites, including the Tomb of Joseph in Shechem and the Tomb of Joshua in Kifl Hares. The Palestinians are insisting all areas of Jerusalem liberated in the Six Day War, including the Jewish Quarter, the Kotel, and Jewish neighborhoods such as French Hill, Ramat Eshkol, and Har Homa be placed under PA sovereignty. Kerry has spent much time and effort in trying to come to a compromise on Jerusalem, but has so far failed, PA sources said. (INN)
PALESTINIAN ENVOY TO PEACE TALKS: WE WON’T RECOGNIZE ISRAEL AS A JEWISH STATE: Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat reiterated Monday the PA's refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, in response to statements attributed to Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni that the PA was ready to do so. Erekat told the Voice of Palestine radio that the direct peace talks have stopped, and that the US was now negotiating separately with the PA and the Israeli government. He also denied that the PA leadership would agree to extend the peace talks beyond April 29. (Jerusalem Post)
LIKE A MOTHER FOR HER CHILD, WE WILL NOT GIVE UP ON OUR LAND: A week-long vigil in front of the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, calling for Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, wound to a close on Sunday. Dozens of mothers were present at the vigil tent from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily in a strong showing of support. Nadia Matar, co-director of Women in Green which organized the event, emphasized the rally's message to PM Netanyahu. "We know there is a lot of international pressure and pressure from the left against you," said Matar to Netanyahu, "but we are here to remind you that the land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel, and there exists a plan that you should implement: the application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.” In addition to the many MKs, rabbis and other public figures who showed up to express support for the vigil, a special guest arrived at the tent - a bride, Efrat Leshem, who showed up on her wedding day. Leshem said at the vigil "before I build my private home, I must also do something for my nation and for my land." Summarizing the reason why so many mothers came out to support the event, Matar stated "in the same way a mother would never give up on a child that is the same way we the people of Israel will not give up on the land of Israel." (Arutz-7) “Can a woman forget her nursing child and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.” Isa 49:15-16
BELGIAN CHILDREN’S COSTUME – HOLOCAUST PRISONER: Jewish shoppers in Belgium's Delhaize supermarket chain were shocked last week to find an appalling children's costume on the store's shelves. It was a striped prisoner’s uniform from the Nazi death camps of the Holocaust. Shoppers complained about the costumes, which are made by the US-based Funny Fashion company. Last Friday, the chain decided to recall the controversial items. Joel Rubinfeld, President of the Belgian League against Antisemitism (LBCA), led the move to have the Holocaust prisoner costumes removed. The outfits were put on sale for the coming holiday of Carnival, which is celebrated in Belgium and the Netherlands with parades. In 2013, the parade included men dressed as Nazi SS officers and boys dressed as religious Jews, traveling on a rail car decorated with posters depicting pails labeled “Zyklon,” the chemical used in the Nazi gas chambers. The Carnival is on UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. (Arutz-7) Pray that such brutal insensitivity and gross antisemitism will be outlawed in Belgium and the Netherlands.
ISRAEL EXPERIENCING UNPRECEDENTED DROUGHT CONDITIONS: Israel is currently experiencing an unprecedented drought – so extreme that such conditions this time of year have never been documented, according to the Water Authority. Since the 10-day mega-storm that drenched the country in mid-December, Israel has experienced almost no rainfall, and the drought conditions are being felt particularly in regions surrounding the natural water sources. Nationwide, the country has received only about 64% of its average annual precipitation since the beginning of the rainy season. (Jerusalem Post) Please continue to pray that Israel will receive much needed rain.
